Model C gas conversion"mixer pin"

Hello all, Iam converting a C from N Gas to LP.
I have the C service manual, it seems that
with the universal mixer pin I can simply
screw the orifice cap tight to the shoulder.
I am confused about the universal mixer cap
on my stove the cap screws down onto a piece
that is not tapered(pointed) as in the diagram on p.14 inthe service manual,does this mean I need to buy orifice caps for lp and install?

hi,
on the universal the point (tapered part) is sized for propane. when you tighten the orifice cap all the way down the cap fits over the point orifice and restricts gas flow for propane use. if you back the cap off the point gas from the point orifice AND the openings on the sides of the point to flow thru the cap orifice (larger opening) for natural gas use. natural gas is supplied at a lower pressuer than propane.
now, about your stove, w/o the universal pins you need smaller orifice caps. standard (modern) caps are #52 (too big for the oven and broiler) and #72 (too small for the burners and well).
if you can get some of the #72 caps you could have them drilled to size. the thread count s/b standard 27 but you can re-cut the threads to fit.
if you can find anyone to make a set for you let me know and ill do it, but i cant get to it for at least two weeks.
